AllClear Aerospace & Defense today announced the appointment of Kenneth Burtt as Director of Business Development for its Engineered Products division. Burtt brings more than three decades of leadership experience in aerospace materials, advanced manufacturing, and strategic growth initiatives supporting commercial and defense aerospace programs worldwide.

Engineered Materials and OEM Partnership Leadership

Burtt joins AllClear from PPG Aerospace, where he served as General Manager of the Engineered Materials Platform. In this role, he led a global aerospace-focused business with full P&L accountability, overseeing multi-site manufacturing operations and setting long-term market strategy across commercial and military programs. He directed major OEM and Department of Defense contract negotiations, guided pricing and capital investment strategies, and worked closely with science and technology teams to commercialize next-generation materials supporting mission-critical aerospace applications.

Prior to PPG, Burtt served as Vice President of Global Sales, Marketing & Business Development at Dexmet Corporation. During his tenure, he repositioned the organization toward highly engineered, application-specific materials for aerospace and medical markets. He expanded OEM engagement, opened new domestic and international markets, and strengthened the company’s role as a strategic development partner rather than a commodity supplier. His leadership also supported successful ownership transitions and long-term value creation.

Burtt’s technical background spans aerospace composite structures, radar absorbing materials, advanced filtration systems, and fluidic control applications. He holds a patent for ultra-thin metallic foil lightning strike protection developed in collaboration with Airbus SAS France. He brings extensive experience navigating DOD contracting frameworks and compliance requirements, including DFARS, ITAR, EAR, and AS9100 and ISO 9001 certification standards.

“Ken understands how to align technical capability with strategic growth,” said Brent Wisch, Senior Vice President, Global Sales and Business Development. “His experience strengthening OEM relationships, structuring complex defense agreements, and advancing engineered materials platforms positions our Engineered Products Division for continued expansion.”

Burtt holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Aerodynamics from Widener University’s School of Engineering. He serves as a board member for BT Charities Organization and is an active member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

This appointment reinforces AllClear’s commitment to expanding its engineered products portfolio, strengthening OEM partnerships, and delivering innovative solutions that support aerospace and defense platform readiness worldwide.
